This is something I think I have always advocated in the work place. Everyone who knows me, knows that I am definitely against kissing tail because I give out respect that I receive. When it comes to being a helpful and diligent employee, I believe that is a way to show respect in the work place. Treat your neighbor exactly how you would treat yourself and yes, that means your boss too lol. Check out this excerpt and read the full article when you have time.
